This  is  the  Webmaster

I created my site on July 8th 2022 after a small handful of previous sites that I had gradually grown tired of maintaining, or constantly changing.

After the progress on my previous sites halted, I decided to dedicate myself to coding whatever I thought looked fun or cool and stick with it.

The only updates my pages will receieve after their intial creation will be QOL or accessibility related. That is my ruleset for this site!

For who I am: you can call me Don Q or 長谷川 (Hasegawa) and I am the 21 year old university student who has created this site. I code in my spare time, and try to slowly update my pages in a way that allows me to avoid getting burn out.

How I code: I am entirely self-taught, and tend to create small MS paint scribbles of what my pages will look like, and then I bring them to life as best I can.

The monthly Personal Log

November 17th 2023 - 8:30PM

At the time of writing, I've done just about nothing this month!

Slowly but surely I've been replacing the images on my site pages to filegarden. Slowly but surely... I've also been in a bit of a coding rut. Yes, I've been busy IRL, as always; but it almost seems like I'm stuck in terms of inspiration.

I tried my hand at a Stardew Valley shrine a couple times, but haven't found anything that sticks so far. Maybe next month I should focus on finishing my preexisting shrines? That could do be some good, we'll see.

Thanks to everyone for sticking around while updates are slow.

At the time of writing, I have recently updated my index page with a new layout, alongside continuing the process of moving all of my site images to a new filehost. I have been using filegarden, which has been simple and effective enough for the process to not be incredibly grueling. In the case of an emergency, I also have backed up all of my files on an extra google drive, haha.

While my activity for updates has stagnated due to university, I am hoping to finalize and finish up some of my shrines in the near future. Maybe I'll strike gold with inspiration for more project pages, my most recent one- zoe.html- was a pleasure to work with. I should look into using the transform feature more often.

My only other thing on my to-do list for this site is again, the Tarot page. I keep thinking, "oh, I'll do monthly readings instead," and then the first of the month passes by me and I forget. It's horrible timing, but maybe I'll remember eventually to finally continue to work at it.

On a less than ideal note... I don't understand the formatting of certain websites on here. Particularly the type that spew random Japanese ads and text everywhere for aesthetic value. It feels a little insulting at times to see your language turned into something that is strictly used to up a website's "cuteness" factor. But I digress, ultimately I don't mind too much.

Maybe I'll sort some proper updates for the coming months.

September 3rd 2023 - 12:14AM

At the time of writing, I have finished a significant section of my Danganronpa shrine. I've been replaying the series, and attempting to play as many games as I can before the next university term begins. I am also waiting on some job offers; it's only a matter of time before my schedule is swamped, so it's best to spend this weekend working hard with what I enjoy.

Although there weren't many updates in August, I've still been planning to possibly revamp the Tarot page. The layout is great, but I can't keep up with weekly updates, and usually wind up forgetting! I'm jotting this down again, so when next month rolls around, I'll remember to do it eventually.

My birthday is also in this month- September 23rd. I'm a Virgo. I'm looking forward to possibly pre-ordering the LISA series vinyls, since I have a record player of my own. I already own the Hollow Knight soundtrack on vinyl; thanks to my boyfriend, who gifted it to me on our anniversary.

Here's to hoping more updates will slowly crawl in during September.

August 2nd 2023 - 11:16PM

At the time of writing, I am finishing up this page and will upload it to my Neocities properly. I still need to organize some sort of sitemap page, alongside slowly adding to my shrines when the drive strikes. I'm happy with the progress my site has made so far, and it's taken a little while to reach a solid ground where I enjoy coding, but also don't feel the need to be constantly creating or updating things.

My biggest issue I think is forgetting to update my Tarot page! I've been thinking of moving those to monthly 3-card readings, rather than weekly ones. Who knows, we'll see.

Bringing back a guestbook or comment section of sorts is also in my mind. Since my next university term is starting in September, I'm trying to get as many larger-scale updates in as possible hahaha!

This page is going to be kept as simple as it can be, out of my own personal preference and for ease of maintenance.

Thank you to anyone who has enjoyed my site so far. I enjoy creating it.
